1. The magazine CIÊNCIA FLORESTAL publishes works technician-scientific unpublished, resultants of research of interest of the forest area, as well as technical notes and revision works are also accepted. The texts can be written in Portuguese, English or Spanish.

2. To submit a work for publication it is collected the following values:
=> Submission rate: US$17.00 (seventeen dollars)
=> Publication rate: US$34.00 (thirty four dollars)
The values should be deposited in the checking account number 250.930-X, of the agency of the Banco of Brasil number 1484-2.
The receipt regarding the deposit of the submission rate should be together a correspondent with the work. Already the receipt regarding publication rate should be a correspondent, for e-mail (cepef@ccr.ufsm.br), for CEPEF.
OBS: The payment of the submission rate is not warranty that the work will be published. The final acceptance depends on the reviewers 'Ad hoc' opinion and of Advice Edit evaluation. The deposited values won't be returned.

3. The works should be addressed to the Advice Edit through correspondence (to download example for direction to click here ) signed by all the authors, declaring that the article is unpublished, and informing the complete address (e-mail) of your participants. Three copies are requested printed in double space (two of them without name of author and a complete one) and one in diskette. Format and configuration: source Times New Roman, size 12, tabulation of 1,25 cm; text editor Microsoft Word; paper in format A4, with 2 cm of margins left, below and top, and 1,5 cm of right margin; orientation picture; size maximum 20 pages.

4. The concepts and statements emitted in the goods they are of exclusive responsibility of the authors. However, the Advice Edit is reserved the right of to request or to suggest modifications in the original text.

5. The works will only be published after having revised for the consultants and approved for the Advice Edit, preferencialmente in the chronological order of greeting. The no-approved ones will be returned to the authors.

6. The acronyms and abbreviations, to the they appear for the first time in the work, they should be placed between parentheses and preceded of the name for extensive.

7. Bibliographical citations, in the text, they will be done in agreement with NBR 10520 (July/2001) of ABNT, using the system " author-date ", in small letters, less the acronyms that will be in capital letters. Examples:
- Two authors: Clayton e Tretiak (1972).
- Three or more authors: Reitz et al. (1988).
- Abbreviations: IBAMA (2000); EMBRAPA (1998).
A same author documents, published in the same year: Silva (1977a); Silva (1977b).
All the citations should have your complete references included in the list of Bibliographical References.

8. The works should be organized in Title, Summary, Introduction, Bibliographical Revision, Material and Method, Results and Discussion, Conclusions, Gratefulness (if there is) and Bibliographical References. The summary should be written in two languages, belonging one to them English.

9. The Title of the work should be centralized and in bold, with capital letters, written in Portuguese or Spanish, and followed by the version in English.

10. The author name should be positioned soon below the title in English and identified with number seqüencial sobrescrito. The calling of the author it should be indicated in the baseboard of the first page, preceded of the identification number. You seeks advice the following sequence of information: formation, title, function, institution the one that belongs, I address postal, city, State and electronic address (e-mail).

11. The titles, Summary and Abstract should be in capital letters, centralized and your texts written in an only paragraph.

12. Therefore after the Abstract (Portuguese and English) the terms Key words (Portuguese and English) should be included respectively, with alignment to the left.

13. The others great titles: Introduction, Bibliographical Revision, Material and Method, Conclusions, Gratefulness (if there is) and Bibliographical References should be written in capital letters, aligned to the left. The other titles should obey the sequence exemplified to proceed:
MATERIAL AND METHOD - (primary title) - completely in capital letters and bold.
Characterization of the place - (secondary title) - only the initial capital letter and in bold.
Soil - (tertiary title) - only the initial capital letter, in bold and italic.
Horizon A - (quaternary title) - only the initial capital letter, in italic.

14. The Introduction should contain the objective of the work, could also include the bibliographical revision.

15. The Bibliographical References mentioned in the text, in the tables or in the illustrations, they should be ordered alphabetically, without-numbering, following NBR 6023 (August/2000) of ABNT, according to examples to proceed:

16. Figures (graphs and pictures) they should be in black and white, without-sombreamento and I outline. The dimensions (width and height) they cannot be larger than 17 cm, always with orientation of the page in the form picture (source: Times New Roman, size of the source: 11, no-bold and no-italic). Pictures should be correspondents separate from the text and identified, in the verse, with the respective number. The width of the tables should not also surpass 17 cm and always with orientation of the page in the form picture.

17. The figures and tables should be self-explanatory. Your titles should be written in two languages, belonging one to them English. When mentioned in the text, the word should only be written with the letter initial capital letter (Figure 1), and in your title, in capital letters, followed by two points (Former: FIGURE 1: Regression curves. . .or TABLE 1: Regression curves. . .). In the case of tables with numeric content, the commas should be aligned verticalmente and the numbers centralized in the column.

18. Scientific names should be written, in the complete (Ex: Araucaria angustifolia and not A. angustifolia) and only in italic. When in titles, or subtitles, to observe like him is written, added of the italic.

19. Equations edited by the module Equation Editor, of Microsoft Word, they should obey the source of the text and the following size: intern 11 pts; underwritten/topwritten 5 pts; underwritten/topwritten 8 pts; symbol 11 pts and undersymbol 5 pts. In case it is very extensive, a special size can be used: to reduce 2 pts in each window mentioned previously.

20. Maps and written small pictures should present graphic scales.

21. Doubts can be healed by the Advice Edit of the Magazine.

1. A revista CIÊNCIA FLORESTAL publica trabalhos técnico-científicos inéditos, resultantes de pesquisa de interesse da área florestal, assim como também são aceitas notas técnicas e artigos de revisão. Os textos podem ser redigidos em português, inglês ou espanhol.

2. Para submeter um trabalho para publicação é cobrado os seguintes valores:
=> Taxa de submissão: R$50,00 (cinquenta reais)
=> Taxa de publicação: R$100,00 (cem reais)
Os valores devem ser depositados na conta corrente n. 250.930-X, da agência do Banco do Brasil n. 1484-2.
O recibo referente ao depósito da taxa de submissão deverá ser enviado juntamente com o trabalho. Já o recibo referente a taxa de publicação deverá ser enviado, por fax (55 3220.8336) ou e-mail (cepef@ccr.ufsm.br), a/c CEPEF.
OBS: O pagamento da taxa de submissão não é garantia que o trabalho será publicado. A aceitação final depende da opinião dos revisores Ad hoc e da avaliação do Conselho Editorial. Os valores depositados não serão devolvidos.

3. Os trabalhos devem ser endereçados ao Conselho Editorial por meio de correspondência (para baixar exemplo de ofício para encaminhamento clique aqui) assinada por todos os autores, declarando que o artigo é inédito, e informando o endereço completo (inclusive o eletrônico) dos seus participantes. São requeridas três cópias impressas em espaço duplo (duas delas sem o(s) nome(s) do(s) autor(es) e uma completa) e uma em disquete. Formatação e configuração: fonte Times New Roman, tamanho 12, tabulação de 1,25 cm; editor de texto Microsoft Word; papel em formato A4, com 2 cm de margens esquerda, inferior e superior, e 1,5 cm de margem direita; orientação retrato; tamanho máximo 20 páginas.

4. Os conceitos e afirmações emitidas nos artigos são de exclusiva responsabilidade do(s) autor(es). Contudo, o Conselho Editorial reserva-se o direito de solicitar ou sugerir modificações no texto original.

5. Os trabalhos somente serão publicados depois de revisados pelos consultores e aprovados pelo Conselho Editorial, preferencialmente na ordem cronológica de recebimento. Os não-aprovados serão devolvidos aos autores.

6. As siglas e abreviaturas, ao aparecerem pela primeira vez no trabalho, deverão ser colocadas entre parênteses e precedidas do nome por extenso.

7. Citações bibliográficas, no texto, serão feitas de acordo com a NBR 10520 (julho/2001) da ABNT, usando o sistema "autor-data", em letras minúsculas, menos as siglas que serão em letras maiúsculas. Exemplos:
- Dois autores: Clayton e Tretiak (1972).
- Três ou mais autores: Reitz et al. (1988).
- Siglas: IBAMA (2000); EMBRAPA (1998).
Documentos de um mesmo autor, publicados no mesmo ano: Silva (1977a); Silva (1977b).
Todas as citações deverão ter suas referências completas incluídas na lista de Referências Bibliográficas.

8. Os trabalhos devem ser organizados em Título, Resumo, Introdução, Revisão Bibliográfica, Material e Método, Resultados e Discussão, Conclusões, Agradecimentos (se houver) e Referências Bibliográficas. O resumo deve ser redigido em dois idiomas, sendo um deles o inglês.

9. O Título do trabalho deve ser centralizado e em negrito, com letras maiúsculas, redigido em português ou espanhol, e seguido da versão em inglês.

10. O nome do autor deve estar posicionado logo abaixo do título em inglês e identificado com número seqüencial sobrescrito. O chamamento do(s) autor(es) deve ser indicado no rodapé da primeira página, antecedido do número de identificação. Aconselha-se a seguinte seqüência de informação: formação, titulação, função, instituição a que pertence, endereço postal, cidade, Estado e endereço eletrônico.

11. Os títulos, Resumo e Abstract devem ser em letras maiúsculas, centralizados e os seus textos redigidos num único parágrafo.

12. Logo após o Resumo e o Abstract devem ser incluídos os termos Palavras-chave e Key words respectivamente, com alinhamento à esquerda, contendo até quatro palavras-chave.

13. Os demais grandes títulos: Introdução, Revisão Bibliográfica, Material e Método, Conclusões, Agradecimentos (se houver) e Referências Bibliográficas devem ser escritos em letras maiúsculas, alinhados à esquerda. Os demais títulos devem obedecer à seqüência exemplificada a seguir:
MATERIAL E MÉTODO - (título primário) - todo em maiúsculas e negrito.
Caracterização do local - (título secundário) - só a inicial maiúscula e em negrito.
Solo - (título terciário) - só a inicial maiúscula, em negrito e itálico.
Horizonte A - (título quaternário) - só a inicial maiúscula, em itálico.

14. A Introdução deve conter o objetivo do trabalho, podendo também incluir a revisão bibliográfica.

15. As Referências Bibliográficas citadas no texto, nas tabelas ou nas figuras, devem ser ordenadas alfabeticamente, sem-numeração, seguindo a NBR 6023 (agosto/2000) da ABNT, conforme exemplos a seguir:

16. Figuras (gráficos e fotografias) devem ser em preto-e-branco, sem-sombreamento e contorno. As dimensões (largura e altura) não podem ser maiores que 17 cm, sempre com orientação da página na forma retrato (fonte: Times New Roman, tamanho da fonte: 11, não-negrito e não-itálico). Fotografias deverão ser enviadas separadas do texto e identificadas, no verso, com o respectivo número. A largura das tabelas também não deve ultrapassar 17 cm e sempre com orientação da página na forma retrato.

17. As figuras e tabelas devem ser auto-explicativas. Seus títulos devem ser redigidos em dois idiomas, sendo um deles o inglês. Quando citada no texto, a palavra deve ser escrita somente com a letra inicial maiúscula (Figura 1), e no seu título, em letras maiúsculas, seguido de dois pontos (Ex: FIGURA 1: Curvas de regressão ... ou TABELA 1: Valores médios ...). No caso de tabelas com conteúdo numérico, as virgulas devem ficar alinhadas verticalmente e os números centralizados na coluna.

18. Nomes científicos devem ser escritos, na íntegra (Ex: Araucaria angustifolia e não A. angustifolia) e somente em itálico. Quando em títulos, ou subtítulos, observar como ele é escrito, acrescido do itálico.

19. Fórmulas editadas pelo módulo Equation Editor, do Microsoft Word, devem obedecer à fonte do texto e o seguinte tamanho: interno 11 pts; subscrito/sobrescrito 5 pts; subsubscrito/sobrescrito 8 pts; símbolo 11 pts e subsímbolo 5 pts. Caso seja muito extensa, poderá ser usado um tamanho especial: diminuir 2 pts em cada janela citada anteriormente.

20. Mapas e fotomicrografias deverão apresentar escalas gráficas.

21. Dúvidas poderão ser sanadas pelo Conselho Editorial da Revista.
